The Companion Writings are offered as a seed to ignite one’s own contemplation while sharing symbolic interpretation regarding the significance of the piece to Carol as it was created. She encourages viewers to remain open to allowing each piece to speak to them personally, in its own way(s). She believes them to be ongoing messengers far beyond the “seed” she receives while creating them. Read the companion inspiration writings to more fully understand the symbolism of each piece. The vessel form itself is highly symbolic in every piece – the ancient feminine form symbolic of quietly remaining open to receive while also ready to pour forth (share) its contents with another. Nature also stands quietly open to incessantly receive – while colors and forms change from season to season. The choice of bronze as a medium for the vessels reflects the symbolic longevity of nature and of bronze; and, the patina on bronze changes slightly through the seasons mirroring nature and human form seasonal changes as well.
